-Like powdered sugar
Dissolution is a new entry in the ever-developing Korps Universe, which explores a world in which the titular organization of "villains" fights against a world run by "heroes". Of course, the villains in this case are usually the progressive, queer good guys, and the heroes are the corrupt, bigoted baddies. This book follows that same formula, but with enough thrilling action to keep you on your toes the whole way.
Many of the Korps books I've read so far have been slow to medium paced, allowing time for touching explorations of trans identity in an oppressive superpowered world. Dissolution, meanwhile, is undoubtedly fast-paced, but still manages to pack in those explorations. Not to mention the author does a great job of setup and payoff, with so many small mentions of things in the beginning and middle coming back to rock the plot later down the line.
Any fan of the other Korps Universe novels, or readers who are looking for a unique spin on the superhero genre, would do well to pick this book up. Especially if they enjoy fast-paced, action packed thrill rides.
